#Julia, the Obama campaign’s first hilarious failure

I’m sure there will be more failures, but this one will keep us entertained for a long time. This is a slide show depicting a faceless icon of a single female who is completely cared for by the cradle to grave nanny state that the far left desires. There is a ton of funny commentary about this, so here are three websites just to get started. First, here’s David Steinberg on PJ Media:

The Obama 2012 campaign released the epic government-fueled travails of “Julia” today, a slideshow supposedly relating how an Obama presidency can benefit the life of the average American woman. “Benefit”, as in pay for each of her progressive-approved hipster doofus life-choices (“Age 22: She starts her career as a web designer”).

Right off the bat, “#Julia” trended to the top of Twitter as the second-most popular current hashtag in the United States; to the horror of David Axelrod and the increasingly dated tacticians of the Obama campaign, virtually every mention of #Julia was a conservative mocking the slideshow.

Read the comments that follow the article, and don’t be drinking any sticky liquids near your keyboard when you do. Next, Michelle Malkin on National Review:

Quick, hide under the covers. The nation’s storyteller, Barack Obama, unveiled a frightening new fable on the Internet intended to scare women away from supporting fiscal conservatives in November. But as is increasingly common with Obama’s social-media propaganda initiatives, “The Life of Julia” immediately flopped.

Why? Because 1) self-sufficient women voters aren’t as sheeple-ish as Democratic strategists make them out to be, 2) conservative activists are overtaking Obama’s zombie army online, 3) non-delusional Americans don’t want cradle-to-grave utopians turning their country into the next Greece or Spain, and 4) responsible grownups are getting sick and tired of radical Saul Alinsky–style tall tales from the progressive Pied Piper.

Using snazzy graphics and interactive slideshow features, BarackObama.com spins a glowing narrative of imaginary Julia’s life from age 3 to age 67. But “Julia” is a pathetic figment of the progressive imagination. She simply cannot function without the lifelong intervention of federal patriarchs.

After hyperventilating for months about the Republican “war on women,” Democratic new-media gurus have inadvertently exposed the real Barack Obama: a chauvinistic control freak who would tether every last woman and child to his ever-expanding, budget-busting nanny state.

There aren’t many comments, but here’s a great one:

Take a look at how president Obama’s policies affected one woman over her lifetime.

Age 3: Julia was traumatized when she had her kindergarten lunch confiscated by an FDA goon, thanks to President and Mrs’ Obama’s new mandates on healthy school-lunch programs.

Age 6: Julia realizes how much she misses mommy, who has to work three jobs to put gas in her car, thanks to President Obama’s excommunication of domestic energy production.

Age 15: Julia is raped by an illegal alien with a mile-long rap sheet, who was never deported thanks to President Obama’s all-out war on immigration-law enforcement.

Age 22: graduates from college with a degree in gay and transgendered Meso-American environmental studies, and is saddled with a $150,000 student loan, thanks to President Obama’s obscenely inflating college tuition by pimping out low-interest loans to everybody and his dog.

Age 30: after opening a fledgling home-based business, she is served with a class-action lawsuit for not making her workforce of two “sufficiently look like America,” thanks to President Obama’s Justice Department aggressive stance on affirmative action.

Age 50: Julia finds a lump in her breast, but learns that she must wait seventeen months before having the tumor removed, thanks to President Obama’s signature piece of legislation, which has clogged, impoverished and rationed America’s health care delivery.

Age 51: attempts to travel to India to have her cancer removed. However, realizes she does not have enough money to pay for surgery, thanks to President Obama’s disastrous economic policies that have made the Indian Rupee trade even with the Dollar.

Age 52: while on a “Green Bus” on her way to free end-of-life counseling, Julia (and the bus) are detonated by a Muslim fanatic, who was released from a maximum-security prison thanks to President Obama’s and Eric Holder’s vigorous fight for the “civil rights” of terrorists and enemy combatants.

I am Barack Obama and I approve this message.

Finally, the incomparable Dana Loesch writes a hilarious review of the program on Breitbart.com.

Today, the Obama campaigned launched its Dads Are Unnecessary, Single Women Are Helpless campaign, simply titled “Julia.” It features a faceless composite, which seems to be the type of woman with which the campaign is most comfortable.

Discussing #Julia’s retirement:

Barack Obama is apparently immortal and ALSO still president. Even if his first year of presidency began when Julia was three years-old, this would make him 114 years old at this time.

Read the comments here too. #Julia is pure comedy gold!

  1. I wouldn’t call it a failure yet, but it is pathetic.

  2. Hal, my only issue is with your headline:

“The Obama Campaign’s FIRST HILARIOUS FAILURE”

I’d say the whole lot of them has been pretty much a hilarious failure from the get-go; this campaign included. ;-)

  3. My contribution: Obma’s so desperate to find somebody who has benefited from his administration he’s had to make one up.
