Race Hustlers and Double Standards

Zimmerman, Deen and Racism in Black and White

- by Mark Alexander -

“There is in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong, a love of truth and a veneration of virtue … if the people are capable of understanding, seeing and feeling the differences between true and false, right and wrong, virtue and vice…” –John Adams (1775)

This week, while reviewing a new comprehensive national survey of racism from Rasmussen Reports, I was struck by this finding: “Among black Americans, 31% think most blacks are racist, while 24% consider most whites racist and 15% view most Hispanics that way.”

That study is an interesting backdrop for the trial by jury of former Neighborhood Watch organizer George Zimmerman, and the trial by Leftmedia of now former-Emmy Award-winning Food Network host Paula Deen. It is not my purpose to defend Zimmerman or Deen, but they are both current case studies in racist political agendas — and these should be fully exposed.

Additionally, the Deen case opens the door wide for an inquiry into double standards — if only a real journalist in the White House press corps would step through it and ask one question — but more on that in a moment.

In the case of Zimmerman, he admitted to the self-defense shooting of a black youth, Trayvon Martin, in Sanford, Florida, on February 26, 2012.

At the time, Martin’s death got a total of four paragraphs in the Orlando Sentinel. It may have deserved more coverage but according to the most reliable eyewitness, Martin had Zimmerman on the ground and it appeared to be another non-news self-defense shooting — not a racially motivated murder.

But a month after the Zimmerman/Martin altercation, Barack Hussein Obama and his NeoCom cadres decided to exploit the case as a re-election rallying cry for his most loyal constituency, “the black vote.”

Obama’s race-baiting political hustlers descended on Sanford with a mission: Make George Zimmerman a poster-boy for racist hate-crimes.

Indeed, the Democrat Party long ago mastered the art of divide-and-conquer politics of disparity in order to sustain the allegiance of blacks. More than 95 percent of black voters support Democrats. Were it not for the votes of this most devoted constituency, Democrats would be hard-pressed to win more than a few statewide elections — much less a presidential election.

And not only did the “usual suspects” show up to stir the racial pot, but we can now add Obama’s Justice Department to the list of Executive Branch agencies promoting his political agenda.

According to documents obtained by the non-partisan group Judicial Watch, DoJ authorized expenditures to send its so-called “Community Relations Service” personnel to Florida, and tasked them with organizing and promoting protests around the state for the prosecution of George Zimmerman.

Ahead of Obama’s public comments about the case, the DoJ operatives were “deployed to Sanford, FL to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies,” and “to provide support for protest deployment” and “technical assistance to … event organizers.” Ostensibly, they were sent to serve as “peace keepers,” but their mission and activities were nothing more than a thinly veiled component of Obama’s political campaign agenda.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton concludes, “These documents detail the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman. My guess is that most Americans would rightly object to taxpayers paying government employees to help organize racially-charged demonstrations.”

Good guess!

Once the race hustlers and DoJ had plowed the Florida fields, Obama, the consummate racial agitator, nationalized the Zimmerman/Martin case by sowing this seed: “This is a tragedy, uh … uh and when I think about this boy, uh, I think about my own kids, uh … I think that all of us need to do some soul searching to figure out how something like this happened. … If I had a son he would look like Trayvon, and, uh, you know, I think [his parents] are right to expect that all of us as Americans, uh, are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves.”

Obama’s entry into the fray, and the predictable Leftmedia feeding frenzy painting this incident as a hate crime (racially tagging Zimmerman as “white Hispanic” to imply a white-on-black hate crime), elevated the case from a simmering local conflict to a boiling national brawl.

In contrast to the Zimmerman/Martin case, recall that in 2009, after Islamist radical Nidal Malik Hasan murdered 13 soldiers and wounded 29 others at Ft. Hood, Texas, yelling “Allahu Akbar!” as he gunned them down, Obama was quick to counsel the nation, “We don’t know all the answers yet. And I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.”

Ironically, in the same weekend that Obama made this incident part of his re-election strategy, he refrained from any comment on the unmitigated violence in his hometown of Chicago, where, in just 48 hours, 10 people were murdered and at least 40 others were seriously injured. Most of the victims were 15-30 years of age and the assailants were black or Latino. One of the dead was 6-year-old Aliyah Shell, who was murdered while playing on the front porch of her home in the Little Village neighborhood.

All of the Chicago violence occurred, and continues to occur, under the watch of Obama’s former chief of staff, now-Mayor Rahm Emanuel. But the daily slaughter of blacks by other blacks is not a political rallying point for the Left’s black constituents, because their political agenda depends on blacks believing they are “victims,” not victimizers.

But another black leader did have the courage to condemn the hatred in Chicago. In 1968, Martin Luther King went to Chicago, and amid the racial strife of that era, declared, “This is the most tragic picture of man’s inhumanity to man. I’ve been to Mississippi and Alabama and I can tell you that the hatred and hostility in Chicago are really deeper than in Alabama and Mississippi.” King added, “Those who are associated with ‘Black Power’ and black supremacy are wrong.”

Not much has changed in Chicago, but Obama, et al., are focused on their political strategy in Florida — now a 2014 midterm election rallying point.

Of course, Obama’s Leftmedia cadres rigorously observe his “code of silence” concerning black-on-white racist crimes. Their silence is deafening when it comes to indisputable black-on-white hate crimes — whether they be the most heinous rape/torture/mutilation/murders of a young white couple, or the race-motivated murder of a white man by four black gangbangers just last week.

So, with all the heat being generated by the Zimmerman/Martin case, how does the persecution of Paula Deen open the door for some challenging questions about racism and double standards?

2013-07-11-alexander-3Paula Deen and Oprah

Deen is a 66-year-old woman whose deep Southern roots and culture are a major part of her success story. As a young adult she faced severe challenges, but through her own initiative, she rose from the ranks of food stamp recipients to become a beloved national TV icon, a successful restaurateur, author and household name. She launched a home-based catering business, “The Bag Lady,” some 25 years ago, and from that launch pad, everything she touched turned to gold — until a national tabloid painted her whole career with a few words from a deposition regarding a disgruntled employee.

Deen was asked if she had ever used a racial epithet, and she answered that she’d done so in her early years, referencing one instance where she used the “n-word” in anger when telling her husband about a black man who “put a gun to my head. I didn’t feel real favorable towards him.”

In response to those words, Food Network chose not to renew her contract in June 2013, Smithfield Foods dropped her as a spokeswoman, and Walmart, J.C. Penney, Sears, Target, QVC, Caesars Entertainment, Home Depot, and K-Mart all terminated her endorsement contracts.

Deen’s fans were not moved by all the PC corporate shenanigans, and advanced orders for a forthcoming book of her favorite recipes rocketed to the top spot of Amazon’s best-sellers list. Then her publisher, Ballantine Books, announced it was canceling her publishing agreement.

Quickly coming to Deen’s defense were some of the same folks who were stirring up racial tensions over Trayvon Martin’s death.

Jesse Jackson asserted, “she should be reclaimed rather than destroyed.” Al Sharpton noted, “A lot of us have, in the past, said things we have regretted saying.”

Even that self-anointed peacemaker to the world, Jimmy Carter, was quick to insist that Deen be forgiven: “I think she has been punished … for her honesty in admitting it and for the use of the word in the distant past. She’s apologized profusely.”

But have you noted that there has been NO condemnation of Deen from Leftist politicos? Of course, most of them would also fail the standard being set for Deen.

So, here are my thoughts on Deen’s persecution and double standards.

Every executive-tier man or woman at Food Network, Smithfield Foods, Walmart, J.C. Penney, Sears, Target, QVC, Caesars Entertainment, Home Depot, K-Mart and Ballantine Books should be asked the following question: “Have you ever, under any circumstance and in any context, used a derogatory reference in regard to another race, religion or ethnic group, or member thereof?”

In fact, to be fair, let’s ask that question of all Fortune 500 executives, TV show hosts on every network, actors, performers and professional athletes and every elected official. (Of course that is not going to happen because there would be nobody left standing…)

So, let’s ask this one question above all others: Shouldn’t the president of the United States be held to the same standard as a TV show host?

Is there a journalist among the White House press corps with the spine to ask Obama’s spokesman, Jay Carney, “Has Obama ever, under any circumstance and in any context, used a derogatory reference in regard to another race, religion or ethnic group, or member thereof?”

2013-07-11-alexander-4Obama and Wright

Assuming that Carney has read Obama’s autobiography, and assuming that he knows anything at all about Obama’s lifelong associations with Afro-centric spewers of racist hate, he will respond to that question with a blank stare.

Obama is a certified disciple of hate, a protégé of Jeremiah “G-d Damn America” Wright, the man who officiated at Obama’s wedding, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his second autobiography, “The Audacity of Hope.” In that book, Obama describes Wright and his church as the “vessel carrying the story of a people into future generations and into a larger world.” He also alludes to Wright as a “father figure” he never had.

Wright calls America “the US-KKK-A” and says the nation is “controlled by and run by rich white people.” He then goes on, “Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.”

Clearly, had Wright’s message of hate not been exposed, Obama would have chosen him for the benediction at his first inauguration. Instead, he gave that job to Rev. Joseph Lowery, who claimed that he’d mellowed since declaring “all white people are going to hell.” (In fairness to Lowery, he now believes that “only most of them are going to hell.”)

Obama heads the list of consummate liberal hypocrites who prattle on about peace and harmony between those of different racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds, but constantly foments disunity between those groups in order to maintain the allegiance of his constituents.

He considers himself the modern day “Abe Lincoln” of race relations — and maybe he is, given that Lincoln was also a racist bigot (say it ain’t so!).

So, is there a Beltway journalist who will step up and insist that Obama be held to the same standard as poor Paula Deen — and then watch Carney squirm? Better yet, ask Obama directly — I guarantee a flurry of “uh, uh” mental pauses when he attempts to answer that off-teleprompter question.

Don’t hold your breath waiting on anyone in the White House press corps to venture there. If it weren’t for double standards, Leftists wouldn’t have any.

The Zimmerman case goes to the jury Friday afternoon. No doubt the members of that jury fear for their safety and lives, and don’t want to be labeled as the people whose decision led to race riots in Florida’s urban centers. (Shades of Rodney King…) That fear is precisely why the prosecutor, who believes he has lost any chance at a 2nd degree murder conviction, put manslaughter for “child abuse” on the table. He is gambling that the jury will convict on the lesser charge hoping to protect themselves.

It is all elementary, of course, because this entire charade is being driving by Obama’s political agenda. If the jury fails to convict, Obama will let the pot simmer to a boil, and then send in the “Justice Department” to save the day with new charges that Zimmerman violated Martin’s civil rights — followed by another year of rallying black constituents around this case. He might even stretch this out to the midterm elections…

Should the jury declare Zimmerman not guilty, federal, state and local law enforcement officials are bracing for urban center protests and potentially, riots, in Duval, Orange, Hillsborough, Broward and Dade counties — an unfortunate indication that Obama and his DoJ “peace keepers” have succeeded in their political objectives.

Footnote: In my short tenure as a young law enforcement officer, I was occasionally involved in the investigation and surveillance of hate groups, including the KKK. I know what the real faces of racism and bigotry look like — and they look nothing like George Zimmerman or Paula Deen. In fact, when I observed the first KKK rally as part of a federal and state initiative in 1983, I was shocked to learn that the rally leader and chaplain were from Massachusetts and Connecticut, respectively, not somewhere from the Deep South…

  1. It will be interesting as to what happens now. Zimmerman verdict: Not Guilty http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/13/justice/zimmerman-trial/index.html

    • I suspect that we’ll hear from the Holder Department of Justice soon, followed closely by a slew of lawsuits which will only serve to widen the chasm between how racially partisan groups see this event to the exclusion of reason and logic as acceptable tools that work to serve the truth. This verdict did nothing to improve the racial tensions in America and a verdict of guilty would have served not better in narrowing the gap that already exists.

Both sides have reasonable concerns, but neither side of this racial/social divide.has a monopoly on the truth. The only group close to the truth is the jury who examined the evidence and decided Mr. Zimmerman’s fate and they decided that the State over-reached, over-charged, and over-politicized this case to the detriment of the local community and the nation as a whole.

Governor Scott, his special and seemingly corrupt special prosecutor and even the President of the Untied States did nothing to promote fairness, justice and healing, but, instead, worked to undermine public safety, impartiality, and served to guarantee a tainted outcome no matter which way the jury decided. That is not American justice as we’ve known it; it is the justice of tyrants who have no conscience about using the force of government to snuff out the light of human dignity and those unalienable rights granted to each individual at birth by the God of Nature or Nature’s God.

  2. I wrote this essay in late 2010, but recently revised it slightly … and nothing has changed…
